It can be scary for parents to see their child drinking alcohol or taking drugs. Taking the initiative to recognize adolescent substance abuse and getting your child treatment are the first steps to beginning to ameliorate some of the concerns you may have about your child’s substance abuse and related behavior.
Sovereign Health’s Addiction Treatment Program for adolescents is offered at our Rancho San Diego facility. Rancho San Diego’s adolescent facility is dedicated to helping youth overcome problems related to the misuse of alcohol and drugs. Our adolescent facility also treats young people who have a mental illness or substance abuse with any co-occurring mental health condition such as depression or anxiety.
Who we treat
Sovereign Health’s Rancho San Diego facility offers substance abuse treatment to youth ages 12 to 17. Licensed by the State of California Department of Social Services and The Joint Commission, our Rancho San Diego facility provides highly specialized behavioral health treatment programs for males and females who have substance use disorders and co-occurring mental disorders, also referred to as dual diagnosis.
Levels of care
Adolescents who receive addiction treatment at our Rancho San Diego location are thoroughly evaluated with medical and biopsychosocial assessments during the admissions process to diagnose and identify any co-occurring conditions. Because we understand that no two people are exactly alike, we create a treatment plan that is tailored to meet each adolescent’s unique needs.
Rancho San Diego’s adolescent substance addiction program assesses for any underlying and/or co-occurring mental disorders, such as depression and anxiety, and tailors treatment to target both the substance abuse and the mental health disorder. Rancho San Diego offers the following levels of care, depending on the adolescent’s particular needs:
- Residential Treatment Center (RTC)
- Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
