Schedules vary according to the treatment program and individualized care plans. In general, the patients wake up between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. each morning. Days are filled with physical activities, appointments with specialists from the treatment teams, and therapeutic sessions. Our EDGE program ensures that patients do not miss out on academic progress, and patients attend classroom studies daily. Meals and breaks are given at regular intervals throughout the day. Patients must clean up after themselves, perform their household chores and attend meetings. Shower and leisure time follow dinner and bedtime is 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 p.m. on weekends.
Teens in residential treatment reside on our adolescent campus near our Rancho San Diego treatment facility. This large, gated ranch-style campus consists of 14-bed, gender-separate cabins, each of which are under 24/7 supervision by our well-trained staff. Patients sleep two to a room.
Three meals a day are prepared by an onsite chef and dietary service with designated snack times throughout the day. A registered dietitian helps plan meals to suit individual dietary restrictions and preferences. Patients are able to make individual food requests. Adolescent meals and beverages do not contain caffeine.
Our adolescent housing was designed with teenagers in mind. Healthy indoor and outdoor activities and limited television and games are available on most days. There are many amenities including a swimming pool on campus. Recreational activities are organized on- and off-site.
